The Devotional
Comment: If the LORD should return within the
next three days we will not finish Psalm 119. Praise the LORD… even so Come
LORD Jesus. Jesus will be coming again, but He will not return as the suffering
Servant King as we observe Him today, His Death as the Lamb of God is past, it
will not happen again. Since Jesus is RESURRECTED from the death of His human
body His return to earth will be as the KING of all kings and the LORD of all
lords. He will rule the earth and all inhabitants with a rod of iron –
Revelation 19:11-15: Revelation 2:18-29 and Psalm 2:1-12. As His children we
will be with Him, even those in the church of Thyatira who overcome the
corruption of idolatry and immorality; even as within the churches of today. God is serious
about the condition of our soul, the question is… are we?
Devotional: Psalm 119:154-160 – The writer of
Psalm 119 is clearly concerned for the condition of his soul, he has daily
enriched his mind and soul with God’s Commands, Precepts, Statutes, and Judgments. Also the Word God’s righteousness and the Fear of the LORD. This is not for
him a once or twice thought throughout his moments in the day. Seven times a
day I praise YOU, because of Your righteous Judgments – Psalm 118:164. The
question is… do we?
Meditation
and prayer is an adopted frame of mind, it is not an attitude, (1 John 1:1-3) Thus it is possible for every child of
God to stay tune in, to their Creator. Our examples of Godly
communication and life in the world with our Personal God are everywhere in the
Old Testament. God reveals many of the Old Testament adopted children in one chapter
of the Bible… Hebrews 11:1-40. This is not a hall of braggers, it is a hall of God's faithful children.
We live in a
world and among the wicked of the world, in the flesh where the spirit contends with our own weaknesses, it also contends with those around us; we cannot escape,
salvation is FAR from the wicked, yet their persecuting ways are NEAR. The wicked
do not seek the Statutes of God, but God’s children DO. This causes all of God's children friction and persecution to increase, the children of God are persecuted for their testimony
of Truth and the wicked are convicted for their wickedness by revelation of the statutes of
God.
Many are the
mercies of God, for the child of God we meditate on His Precepts, etc. while
the unbelieving will receive mercy when they turn from their wickedness as
described in many sections of the Bible. Revealed to them and to us is the
fairness of God as described in Ezekiel 33:12-20 and John 3:14-21. The entirety
of God’s Word is TRUTH. Everything in the Word of God is FOREVER and endures.
Our soul is of the same endurance. Is our soul filled with the things of God
like an overstuffed duffle bag, or is our soul empty, or filled with dirty laundry. With no desire to meditate and very
little prayer. God's mercy is waiting to hear from all of us today?
