The Devotional - Oh how I love Your Law

The Devotional

Comment: Twelve days have now past in the psalmist journey of incarceration and in the thirteenth day, at the first watch of the day he says for the FIRST time, “Oh, how I love Your Law, it is the meditation all the day, Psalm 119:97. I suppose this would not be specific in our thinking since most of us would assume that the writers love for the Living Word is unwavering. Yet this is the first mention, 96 statements of meditation before are directed to God’s faithfulness to His Creation through His covenant Word. In these remaining 10 sections, he expresses love for all of God’s, laws, testimonies, commandments, God’s Name and His precepts. It is God’s steadfast Will which is visible from His Word that brings us to say that we love God. Again if I say that I love God, and do not love His Commandments or testimonies than I am liar and the Truth is not in me. 1 John 5:6-13.

Devotional: Psalm 119:97-104 – We are surrounded daily by the enemy and we NEED to know this. We cannot simply say, “but I love my unbelieving friend or relative!” We do, but let me say that we MUST love the Word of God MORE. Consider what Jesus said to the multitudes in Luke 14:25-33. We must abhor evil and also cling to that which is good. This is how we are wiser than our enemies and come to know how to love God since they are ever with us.

Being in love with God is know His Precepts, Laws, Commandments, Testimonies, Judgments and Statutes. Knowing the character of God is not superior to our fellow man, but it does give us more understanding than our teachers in the world. Make the testimonies of God your meditation and you will be wiser than the secular aged. The Precepts of God will restrain your conduct and keep you from every evil way to keep you involved with God’s Judgments. Such thoughts to me are overwhelming.

With the LORD as our guide and teacher, His Words will always be sweet to our soul, sweeter than honey or the chocolate that crosses our lips from time to time. Through the Precepts of God we gain and retain understanding, causing us to hate EVERY false way. Study, devote, and consider God, keep Him before the frontlets of your eyes and allow His Word to filter out humanism and maintain your LOVE FOR HIS WORD. Jesus is the WORD, the eternal WORD. John 1:1-5.
