A Daily Devotional – Psalms – Personal Meditation (2)

A Daily Devotional – Psalms – Personal Meditation
Comment: How does anyone know to trust God? I mean there are so many religions and isms around us, and all of these claim peace, and some form of tranquil future for those who follow their doctrines or beliefs. Trusting life and the all the ways of life is scary, I mean who would desire to place their trust in comet that is being chased by eternity? Well don’t laugh, people did and they died in their sin of unbelief in God and their trust in a man, who today is like those who followed him – dead and in the grave. All who trust in the works of man will die because they lack personal faith in the ONE TRUE GOD.

Devotional: Notice if you will what the writer of Psalm 107 says about trust. Verse 1-2 – Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His Mercy (Goodness) endures forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy. The world (all people) are bent on deception and death, whether we understand this or not all of the peoples of the world who do not have faith in the One True God are the enemy of God and of those who follow Him.

Those who place their personal faith in Him are not just a local or isolated body of people who base their beliefs on the views, or doctrines of men controlled by demons. There is no secret society, no cult and no god (of which there are many) that can gather eternity in its fist, and the redeemed too from the four corners of the world. From the east, the west and from the north and south. God who with outstretched arms offers goodness and peace to all who TRUST HIM.

Psalm 107 is 43 verses of goodness and deliverance by the Hand of God for His people Israel at the time of their journey through the wilderness. Like Israel in the sense that we wander about in this world of darkness, with minds of unrest and fear. We fear the tomorrows and we have no peace for the next moment to live, and all the while; God says “Come unto Me and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28 NKJV Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest

The yoke we carry in the world is heavy laden with sins of doubt, fear and unrest. Jesus Christ/Messiah is the ONLY ONE who can replace His peace, goodness and mercy with our fears, doubts and unrestful hearts. Notice what the apostle Paul says in Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

You might as well say it! “Well some of the Israelites failed to place their faith in God!” Yes, indeed they did, but notice Romans 3:3-4 – For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without (of no) effect? Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: "That You may be justified in Your words, and may overcome when You are judged."

A Daily Devotional – Psalms – Personal Meditation (1)

A Daily Devotional – Psalms – Personal Meditation

Comment: The world (people) around us seek to be happy. This happiness is bitter sweet, jokes carry underlying thoughts of misbehavior or worse immorality and idolatry. Laughter is sinister and the listening ear (if you can find one) is a direct cause of bitterness toward each other. To add to this, James the half-brother of Jesus while writing the Jews after the dispersion, writes in chapter 3 that the tongue of mankind is untamable, he also says that the tongue is a flame of fire, set on fire because it is surrounded by a world full of sin and iniquity, it has no control, but to react the same as the world. See James 3:1-18, if you have not read this before, you will be shocked, if you have read this before, read and be shocked again.

Devotional: Mankind, Jews included; live in a world of hostility, yet while they slander one another and walk in every sin and iniquity known to man they will quickly claim the following, “I am okay, it is the world (people) around me that are no good!” Little do you realize my friend, that you are as much the problem as everyone around you. Notice if you will Psalm 2.

1 Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, 3 "Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us." 4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. 5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: 6 "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion." 7 "I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.' " 10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

Jesus the Christ/Messiah is coming again and this is the bottom line. People (the world) destroy one another with the pleasures of the world because they do understand that the battle they fight is really against God and His Children. Problem, they also know that they are defeated and confused. Read and meditate on the Psalm and return to the LORD who created you. Read Romans 10:9-10 and believe it and your mind and soul will rejoice. God will change your happiness in this life to JOY, a joy that the world does not, nor could ever know.

A Daily Devotional – Various Scriptures – Personal Meditation (12)

Comment: Who can condemn Israel for neglecting the responsibility they had to share God with other nations? Well many do and this is the rage of the nations around her, Even today. like the nations around her, Israel is as secular as the rest, still the nations rage and seek her destruction. This rage is a battle of a few thousand years and if you study the Holy Word of God you know this, (Wars and rumors of wars are determined) but if you do not study the Bible, then simply you are an adversary of Israel and of God also. Laughter and mocking fill the air with people who openly reject God, and God looks down from His Throne in heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek Him. There are none who do good, NO NOT ONE! Psalm 53.

Devotional: A question we might have is; Did Israel know this, that as a nation chosen by God that they were to share God with other nations? The answer is, YES! Psalm 67.

1 To the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song. God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us. Selah 2 That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. 3 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 4 Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on earth. Selah 5 Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. 6 Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

Once again, the Church of Jesus Christ has a similar call from the One who sits in the heavens, He is seated at the right hand of the Throne of God, He is Messiah and does He have a message to the Church of today that is like that of His message to Israel in her day? The answer is YES, again! Acts 1:4-8.

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" 7 And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
