A Daily Devotional – Romans and Galatians – Personal Meditation (2)

A Daily Devotional – Romans and Galatians – Personal Meditation (2)

Comment: Why should God bless and protect the United States of America, while people in our churches do not seek to protect the Gospel and keep it Holy? Romans 1:16 – is this verse in any way a cursory read, or is it to be lived in every way? James 1:21-27? Do I, even though I believe the gospel fail to live the gospel because I am ashamed to reveal that I am a child of God? If this is true, then tell us how you expect to have the power of God abiding on you or your family and country? The scripture is very clear, God is not mocked; whatever a person sows is what that person shall reap and today our families, our churches and our countrymen are reaping a world wind of ‘spiritual failure’.

Devotional: The apostle Paul reveals a fault or two in the Galatian church of various conditions within that were threatening to destroy the church and the effect of the gospel. We do not have the time to chart the course that the Galatians sought to take as they contently parted from “faith” to a system of “works” but we do have time to point to some of the corrective messages of Paul to the church; messages that are as current today as these were in the days when written by the apostle.

There is only ONE gospel and it is no small thing in our churches today to notice that the many voices of the gospel are different. People in churches pervert (distort) the gospel today, these do so with services that feed the flesh of the people who participate, rather than feeding the soul, Galatians 1:6-10. There are few church leaders who seek to defend the true gospel of God, instead they distort it with messages that compel people to do things related to the flesh of man and purposely shun things related to the Spirit of God.

It is not my intent to go verse by verse or chapter by chapter, although the desire is with me to do so. My main objective is to wake us up to the personal responsibility that we all share as children of God. We are to live as Christ lived and this is seen to some of us as an impossible task. Well, is it? If we do not understand Paul’s words in Romans 1:17, for in it (the Gospel) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. There are not many faiths as some could interpret, there is but one faith and in the days ahead we will look at this faith.
