A Daily Devotional – JESUS – The Eternal Word (43)

A Daily Devotional – JESUS – The Eternal Word

Comment: While the following verses in Psalm 7 is not absolute evidence that each of us have personal pitfalls, there is evidence in the Holy Bible that we all do. “Behold the wicked travails with iniquity, conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it out, and has fallen into the ditch which he made. His trouble shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealings shall come down on his own head”. The failure of mankind throughout history is preserved for us in the Holy Bible; no other historical writing provides this information.

Devotional: ALL other writings considered sacred or secular project the thought of man’s innate goodness will eventually win out, and that if there is a problem; being that his or her unrighteous deeds are much like the chronic cold As if, it will happen but not his or her fault and with proper care it will go away.

Wickedness in the heart of man is permanent; not chronic. In the Holy Bible the words found in Romans 3:10-18 provide proof that wickedness (sin) is imbedded in mankind, or as the Psalm above reveals, mankind is pregnant with sin, (also see James 1:13-15). Of the nine counts recorded against mankind’s righteousness in Romans 3, none of them are removed by any human effort.

Even the law of God which reveals this condition of mankind’s heart does not remove sin. Those who seek to live by the practice, preaching and teaching of salvation by works are fools and failures in the eyes of the LORD. Therefore, those who seek righteousness by keeping the law of God are debtors to keep the whole law.

Sin, wickedness, unrighteousness or whatever you wish to call it can only be removed from the personal life of mankind by God Himself. It is removed from your life and mine by accepting from God, His offering of a Sacrificial Gift. John 3:16 could not be made more clear: “For God loved the world that He gave (gifted) His only begotten Son, that whosoever believed (received) in Him (the gift) should not perish but have everlasting life.

There is much more to be said, but time is running out, not only here today at the computer, but also for those who at this point in their life are still struggling with taking God’s promise by faith and having their sins covered in Blood of God’s sacrificial gift.
