A Daily Devotional – Resolution of Faith – The Eternal Word (34)

A Daily Devotional –  Resolution of Faith  – The Eternal Word

Comment: Most people around the new year make resolutions to do or not do various things in their personal life. I am sure that all of these “things” are directed at making life better, or at least for some more tolerable. If we have any age on us that exceeds 35 years we already know that these resolutions fail, in fact; to even think about these changes is a waste of time. So, is there and alterative to resolutions? I believe we all know the answer to that question, but often fail to face it objectively. The LORD God gave us life and placed us on earth for ONE purpose, that purpose was simply to walk by FAITH and GLORIFY Him.

Devotional: People; all people of the earth are talented, if you seek to observe these talents in people, people will not disappoint you. The skill of all talent is to bring purpose and joy to those who observe what is being done and to Glorify God. If you resolve to be better at the talent you have and feel as though you are missing the mark, may I suggest the following!

Faith, faith in God is the answer. We would not have to resolve to do better at living life if our living were faithfully abiding under the Sovereignty of God. This should not a foreign thought for us as God’s Children. If you have been made ‘righteous’ in the Blood of the Lamb (John 1:29 and John 14:6) and found Jesus to be the Truth, then you already know the answer. Faith in God eliminates annual resolutions by people who fail the very next day. Making a resolution is setting oneself up for failure and depression.

For the person who is made righteous by faith in God (Jesus/Messiah) we know that God is Truth, that He is Omnipresent, Omnipotent and Omniscient. Also, we understand that God is Immutable (He does not change). God is Righteousness, Justice, Love and Eternal Life; in these characteristics we KNOW that God alone is SOVEREIGN.

Our number one, or only resolve would be to glorify God everyday by faith. The people of Hebrews 11; God’s Hall of Faith, not fame) did not seek to turn over year after year a new leaf or repeat and old resolution to do better, they simply walked by faith in God, BECAUSE without FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. The truth is, it is easier to please God by faith then it is to please our self with a resolution.

Hebrews 11-6 and Psalm 33:1-22 will direct our steps of abiding in the Sovereignty of God. Thus, we will not fail to rejoice in Him every day and in this – God is Glorified and we will not be disappointed or depressed with living.
