The Devotional – Vengeance - The Eternal Word

Comment: In the epistle to the Romans, Paul writes, “There is none righteous, no not one; There is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God”, Paul has in mind a Psalm of David; Psalm 14:1-3. He does not quote the words of David but makes the point about the world around God’s children. If you are a student of the Living Word of God, it is critical and clear that the world lies in darkness because they (all unbelieving peoples of the world) are foolishly corrupt because they reject the true and Living God. If this is TRUE and it IS, how do the children of God live in the safe refuge of GOD? The writer of Psalm 94 who is not identified has a clear message to all of the children of God.

Devotional: Psalm 94:1-23 – Vengeance! As a child of God and when we are in a moment of affliction our attitude may be to seek to settle the score or bite back.in some way. Getting even or biting back is human revenge, it is a selfish unrighteous reaction and that is a sin. Only God can provide true vengeance as this action belongs to God alone.and He willingly “shines forth” when we trust Him.

We know that judgment is of the LORD, we see Him as the Judge of heaven and earth and He renders punishment to the proud. This could very well be upon His children along with the unbelieving when we take the matter of vengeance into our own hands. How long will the wicked triumph? In one hand of thought, the wicked may may triumph as long as the children of God  fail to trust Him.

So blessed is the man or woman who trust God and allows Him to do His will. Therefore, allow God to teach you out of His Law (His perfect will). He will give us rest and relief from any day of adversity. God has already dug the pit; we should not labor for what is already done; He calls it the abyss. For the LORD will not cast off His people, nor will God forsake His inheritance. If you are redeemed, then you belong to God. Watch and see what the LORD will do and the "joy of the LORD' will fill your soul.

The LORD is my defense, my shield and He is also the rock of my refuge. Our refuge is God’s Righteousness, His name is Jesus Christ/Messiah. Do not join the world by getting even or settling the score, but “put on the LORD Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts, Romans 13:11-14.
