A Daily Devotional – MESSIAH – The Eternal Word (45)

A Daily Devotional – MESSIAH – The Eternal Word

Comment: Taking some thoughts from Psalm 2 regarding Messiah’s Victory over the nations and His Kingdom Authority over all the world, I comment regarding a day in the United States of America we call Inauguration Day. “Why do the people ‘rage’? Why do they ‘plot’ a vain thing? Most of the people of this nation call themselves ‘democratic’. The word, even from a liberal dictionary means “of and for the people”. The people of the nation voted, yet the people of this nation are not satisfied, WHY? The answer is not political, please read and meditate on Psalm 2.

Devotional: Yes, I do agree that our nation suffers many problems, all of which are selfishly and politically generated ‘by and of the people’ who claim some form of citizenship, even though the definition of ‘citizen today’ is somewhat defined as; “I am a citizen of ‘America’ and I do what is right in my own eyes”, meaning that most of us like OUR so called leaders have the same mindset of Judges 21:25. We have abandoned our birthright of being ‘responsive citizens’ of the United States.

Some, recently have said that I have a bad interpretation on this subject, yet could these folks be wrong? God will judge for sure and in this; I am comforted. The problem with our nation is not Political, it is Spiritual. The following is a portion of scripture found in Romans 13:1-7.

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore, you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.

The current public outcry of our day, “today” is that the people have rebelled against God and His appointed leaders of the nation. Our liberal media has focused on every negative aspect of the newly appointed leadership. Guess what? It has not changed a thing nor CAN it, because it was appointed and approved by God. The people ‘rage’ and ‘plot’ a vain thing, why? Because they are blind to the Truth that God will rule, not only in eternity, but also in time. By the way! The time is short!
