A Daily Devotional – Psalm 12 – The Eternal Word (46)
Comment: The words, “Once upon a time” will
not be found in that order in the Holy Bible, what I am saying is that the Holy
Bible is not a fairytale, nor is it fiction. The Holy Bible is greater than ‘human
wisdom’ and greater than the human understanding of truth. Why? Because it is
the WORD OF GOD, it is without FAULT! Today, many speak with an idleness of
heart to others, meaning that our understanding and conversation of truth even
with our neighbor is faulty. King David wrote in Psalm 12 regarding the
disloyalty of mankind toward God and his neighbor, because of his or her lack
of understanding truth.
Devotional:
If
you are saved and truly I hope you are, you have no doubt cried out to the LORD
in the past with words like this, “LORD! Help for the godly (truthful) man
ceases” if you are not saved, you may be thinking, “ceases from what? Good
question and there is but ONE answer, look around you and notice the number of
people who have NO faith in God, a godly person is one who lives faith in God
alone.
The idle conversation of man with his neighbor is religious
idolatry, like that of one with an inconsistent mind, they flatter one another
with words of religion (half-truths). David says, “may the LORD cut off
(destroy) ALL flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud (pompous)
things. What do these people say? “In time, we will prevail with our tongues, our
lips are our own, who is lord over us?” These ungodly men and women have never
said, “once upon a time, we prevailed!” since this sort of thinking is a ‘religious
fairy tale’ and will never be.
However, with pompous words like these, they devour
the ignorant and needy, they suppress the Truth in false practices (see Romans
1:18) an in doing so they arouse God to anger. God will restore spiritual
safety, safety that the poor and needy long for, notice verse 6 of Psalm 12. “The
words of the LORD are PURE words, like silver tried in a furnace of clay,
purified seven times.
The Truth of God and His Holy Word is available to
everyone, to protect us (everyone). God’s Word has preserved the person of
Faith (Faith in God) in all generations since the beginning of time. It will
continue to do so just as spoken by Jesus “For assuredly, I say to you, till
heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass away
from the law, until all is fulfilled”, Matthew 5:18.
