A Daily Devotional – MESSIAH/JESUS – The Eternal Word

Comment: Faith is the substance (realization) of things hoped for, the evidence (confidence) of things not seen. This sentence is not my own, but it is personal to me, the words were penned by an unknown person who was guided by God the Holy Spirit; see Hebrews 11:1. This is the same Spirit of God, Who in the beginning of time, when the earth was formless and void, overshadowed the face of the deep; see Genesis 1:2. You may be aware of the Creation event, but if not please take the time to read of it in Genesis 1:1 through 2:7. God’s elders of the past obtained (provided) a good testimony of faith because they understood that the worlds were framed by the Word of God; so that things that are now seen, were made of things not visible; Hebrews 11:2-3.

Devotional: God in times past and in various ways ‘spoke’ through the fathers and His prophets (elders). These men were guided to speak by God, through His Spirit, also they were commanded by the Spirit of God to record the things spoken to them. The point I wish to make is that personal faith (man’s only ability) to believe in God is the avenue used by the Holy Spirit to communicate the evidence of God and His Love for that which He alone faithfully spoke into Creation.

The discussion of faith in God is the subject of the epistle of Hebrews (check it out). God, in our days (the last days) speaks to us by His Son (Jesus/Messiah) who and because He is risen and alive is now heir of all things. He, the Son of God was and is the Creator, as it is He who made the worlds, literally the ages, Hebrews 13:8.

Without understanding this by faith we fail to see the ‘brightness’ of our Glorious God and Savior, notice; Jesus/Messiah is both LORD and SAVIOR, (Maker and Keeper) of those who by personal faith believe God. The command from God then is to be faithful; so, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart as in the rebellion, as those in the wilderness did, see Hebrews 3:7-11 and Psalm 95:7-11.

The Holy Bible is proof of the solid Truth that those who run in the race for faith, are those who by faith believe the cloud of Holy Spirit witnesses of the past. We have laid aside the heavy weight of unfaithful works (sin) that drags or ensnares us. we have replaced the false works of darkness with the true light of faith, providing the endurance to run and not faint. 

WHY? Because our faith, our ability to see the unseen and the evidence of looking to Jesus/Messiah who is the author and finisher of Creation through faith. Joyfully (willingly), yet suffering through the crucifixion, even while scouring the shame of His death, now sits with His Father at His right hand to the Throne of God. Faith is the substance and the evidence that God alone LOVES you and me.
