A Daily Devotional – Wisdom – The Eternal Word (37)

A Daily Devotional – Wisdom – The Eternal Word

Comment: The apostle Paul in his first epistle to the Corinthians makes the following statement; “However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which note of the rulers of this age knew, for had they known, they would not have crucified the LORD of Glory” (2:6-8). Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore get wisdom and in all of your getting, get understanding; Proverbs 4:7.

Devotional: Where and what is the wisdom that the apostle Paul, Solomon, Isaiah and the many writers of the Old and New Testaments found? “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” This quote from Isaiah challenges my thoughts this morning, see Isaiah 64:4 in that since the beginning of time the intellect and righteousness of man fails to understand the Wisdom and Righteousness of God.

Yes, we are to study, to be approved of God, and it is further shameful if we seek to proclaim God’s righteousness and love from the wisdom of this present age. If we are God’s children, we are equipped to proclaim God’s love and righteousness, because it is revealed (provided) to us by the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 2:10-12. Please read 1 John 1:1-4, (vs 4) Joy is the equipping characteristic of the Holy Spirit. The Wisdom of God produces joy in our soul, the wisdom of this present age does not.

I encourage all of us to walk in the Spirit and study in the Spirit, in doing so we will learn obedience to God, that is; if we are not obedient to Him, how then can we LOVE Him. Love and Joy are characteristics of the indwelling Holy Spirit and realized for the obedient child of God, see John 15:9-17. God has commanded us to LOVE, to love Him and our neighbor as our self. There are not options in the Word of God, everything of God is ABSOLUTE.
