A Daily Devotional – JESUS – The Eternal Word
Comment: Most people do not deny the life of
Jesus, history records His birth and His death and many are satisfied with
that. That all people of our historical past ‘live and die’; thus, their
physical presence is past and their future is no longer a fact to consider,
only memories to ponder from time to time. This concept is the mainstream of
many ‘religions’, these do not deny the existence of a man named ‘Jesus’ who
lived and died during 4BC and 37AD, yet these religions do deny that the only
WAY to ‘everlasting life’ is through personal FAITH in JESUS who is the only Begotten
Son of God who is risen from the dead and “STILL LIVES”, See John 21:1-25.
Devotional:
Boldly,
like Judaism, a religion of the Jews, fails to recognize Jesus as Messiah. Even
as this religion is looking today for Messiah to come and like all religions will
be surprised when Jesus comes again; the second time. The point; the way, the truth
and the eternal life that all who are lost in the religions of mankind are
seeking, is NOT the WAY, the TRUTH and the ETERNAL LIFE of God, Who through the
Sacrificial gift of His Son, JESUS provides.
Yesterday we briefly wrote of the barrier of sin, or
the pitfalls of the natural human nature. Our unrighteous works and deeds prevent
us from knowing God and God’s only way of SALVATION. The natural human nature of
mankind cannot see with eyes, or hear with ears, or know in the heart, the
things which God has prepared from the beginning of time. See John 1:1-5 and 1
Corinthians 2:9.
Focus and meditate on John 1:5 as the Light of this
Truth penetrates the darkness of the natural mind in order for it to comprehend
the Love of God. I suggest that the Light of this Truth is the Holy Spirit who is
the only One powerful enough to penetrate the darkness of every LOST soul. The thought
of this NEGATES all human based RELIGION, leaving humankind with only ONE
option, and that is FAITH in God’s promise.
For
God so loved the world, that He gave (a sacrificial gift) His only Begotten Son
(the gift), that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal
life. The way to everlasting life is completed in the human
heart by personal faith in God’s promise, there is no other ways available and
for those who by faith in Christ receive this promise of God, it is GOOD NEWS.
