A Daily Devotional – Personal Faith – Personal Meditation
Comment: What ought to be important in life are;
family, friends and homeland, and should always be a high priority for all of
us to seek. Yet, there are alarming changes in family, in friends and in the homeland
that we are aware of. Sadly, most of
us ignore them! In the course of a lifetime; that is those who are sixty and above,
we have seen a major shift in the way of life our citizens. Like a tattered and
worn thin piece of cloth, or like an new enlightened garment; our nakedness of
idolatrous and immoral behavior reveals a society that now rejects God who is
Holy, Righteous and Just. God is never too late or too early! He will judge
this nation; ON TIME, just as He has done in times past to other ungodly
nations.
Devotional: As
in the days of Israel when Jesus and His disciples preached that the kingdom of
heaven was at hand and that all should believe that Jesus is the Christ/Messiah,
so are these days evil; the days in which we live in this country today. You may
say; “Well we have come a long way from those days, we have technology that far
exceeds the days of Jesus Christ, so how can you say, it is the same?”
This in all appearances is true and humanity is proud
of these accomplishments, but these have NOTHING to do with the subject of evil
days. Idolatry and immorality (Romans 1:18-32) are as powerful today as in the days
of Noah, Jesus and today, so NOTHING IS NEW UNDER THE SUN! From the moment of
the fall of Adam and Eve, to the moment you read these words, and until Christ
sets up His kingdom; evil is the same unchanged way of life for most people in
the world. The exception are those who have been given MERCY, GRACE and PEACE,
through the blood of Christ.
Notice this section of scripture – John 8:22-30 - Once more Jesus said to them, “I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die
in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.” This made the Jews ask, “Will
he kill himself? Is that why he says, ‘Where I go, you cannot come’?” But He
continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You
are of this world; I am not of this world.
I
told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he,
you will indeed die in your sins.” “Who are You?” they asked. “Just
what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied. “I have much
to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have
heard from him I tell the world.” They did not understand that He was
telling them about His Father.
So, Jesus
said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you
will know that I am He and that I do nothing on My own but speak just what the
Father has taught Me. The one who sent Me is with Me. He has not left me alone,
for I always do what pleases Him.” Even as He spoke, many believed in Him.
The heart of the matter is found in the last statement of
John in this section: Even as He spoke, many believed on Him! And
as we have mixed thoughts about the Sanhedrin, it would appear that many of
those were saved at this time.
