A Daily Devotional – Psalm 119:137-144 – Personal Meditation
Comment: One of the problems with a loop is
that if you spin in it long enough, you forget which way is up! Someone once
said that a cold will last seven days and then pass, but with all the antibiotics
and cold remedies available the common cold has ‘flu’ the coop! Whatever I have
is not the flu, nor is it the common cold, and germs mutate from bad to worse. Now
this reminds me of the sin of our nation, we have lost our common way. Our
national goals, conservative or liberal are no longer common have become a condition
of sinful remedies that harm and prolong
national healing. It is sinful to do nothing at all, and it is equally sinful to
use mutating remedies of today, to fix things. Now back to the common cold! If I
humanly dwell on my condition it worsens. If I do what the doctor recommends, I
get better. If we do what the LORD God says; if each do their part, our nation
will heal. The remedy: Is not a new product in the slave market of sin. Nationally we need
to turn back to God and obey the government He has provided for us; see Romans
13:1-14.
Devotional: Psalm
119:137-144
Righteous are You, O Lord, and upright
are Your judgments. Righteousness belongs to the LORD, His ways are upright and His judgments
are trustworthy. God has not failed to give us a king, so why should we fail
God because we reject what God has provided; shame of face on all who reject
God’s gift of a new king.
Your testimonies, which You have
commanded, Are righteous and very faithful. God has not failed, His Word is the
same yesterday, today and forever. God is faithful and He is righteous. It is
man who fails God, then we have the audacity to blame God. My zeal has consumed me, because my enemies have forgotten Your words. The
zeal of this thought consumes me because the enemies of God are mine too since
they have forgotten Your Words.
Your word is very pure; therefore, Your
servant loves it. The Word of the LORD is very pure, it is not complex as the words of man,
therefore I trust in God through His Word and I am comforted in His love. I am small and despised, yet I do not forget
Your precepts. What can harm me? Despise me if you so desire, I will not
forget the precepts and statutes of my God. Your
righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law is truth. Why trust
in the temporal when the eternal has already spoken.
Trouble and anguish have overtaken me,
yet Your commandments are my delights. Certainly I have seen better days and
yet in this present affliction I will continue to delight in the commandments
of my LORD. The righteousness of Your testimonies
is everlasting; give me understanding, and I shall live. Yes those who
trust in the LORD shall live because God has given them understanding and
liberty in His everlasting life.
Just as Israel needs the gospel; as a nation, we do too.
Romans 10:1-13.
