A Daily Devotional – Psalm 119:17-24 – Personal Meditation (3)

A Daily Devotional – Psalm 119:17-24 – Personal Meditation

Comment: When is the last time you have experienced a bountiful day, I do not mean a day like Solomon might reveal in Ecclesiastes; and that being, of living vainly for a moment in time that evaporates like water in the heat of the day. A bountiful progress in the life of God’s children is one that serves another. This may not sound like fun, well it is not supposed to! There is unity in serving others and ‘fun’ is replaced with “joy”. This is the encouragement and the comfort of godly love. It does not come from selfish bounty, it comes from God the Spirit, a provision of bountifulness that provides mercy to those whom are served with humility; Philippians 2:1-11.

Devotional: God calls us to living apart from the world; better understood by a word used by the psalmist in verse 18. Allow God to open the eyes of your soul to the Wondrous things of His law. ‘Pala’, a Hebrew word for things hidden or things too high to be seen humanly, things holy or of a spiritual quality. So, what things are these you might ask? Bountiful miracles of serving one another.

Having been born from above, we are strangers in the earth? If this is true and it is; ask God to reveal His commandments of a Spirit filled life to you. When we see others who are like-minded in faith and who are in need, are we not crushed when we fail to help? This breaking of our soul is simply because we fail to meditate with God always and we miss the opportunities He has planned.

God rebukes the proud, but He gives grace to the humble, far be it for us, His children who seek diligently to keep the testimonies of our Father God to allow the princes of the land to speak against us because we fail to be serve by recommending another to take a government handout when we, as a church or a servant of the LORD have it to give.

Yes, be as the psalmist, meditate on God’s statutes, His testimonies also. Let all of the Living Word of God delight your soul, allow His Truth to be your counselors and you will see with the eyes of your soul the great and mighty things He has in store for you. I am reminded at this moment of Jeremiah 33:3, “call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know”.
