A Daily Devotional – Psalm 119:65-72 – Personal Meditation (9)

A Daily Devotional – Psalm 119:65-72 – Personal Meditation

Comment: Sometimes while setting in open discussion Bible Studies you may hear someone say, “Well my Bible commentary points out in this verse that, ‘yada, yada, yada, applies!” It is my personal thought this morning that runs contrary to the use of “study Bibles”. God has given us the Holy Spirit, He indwells ALL believers and I fully believe that study Bibles could be a tool of the devil if used improperly. If I use developed study notes of biblical text; am I not avoiding the direction of the Holy Spirit in me; is He not better equipped to guide me into all Truth? Jesus promised Truth from the Holy Spirit who will guide all believers. Notice! Based on what He hears from God, and this not of His own authority, He guides. Yet we willingly accept the notes of commentary of men as truth. The Holy Spirit in the life of all of God’s children sufficient, John 16:5-15. Also, to help us verify the leading of the Holy Spirit, God has Ordained, Preachers and teachers for the purpose of edifying His children in the Grace of God and to develop the faith of His Children by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 4:7-16.

Devotional: Now to our current study of Psalm 119:65-72; God, our Father deals perfectly with all His Children, He does this according to His Word and not according to the words of others. If I comment on scripture and I do all of the time; it is the duty of those who read my comments to “search the scriptures”/ God holds me accountable for what I say, but He also holds you accountable of too. Therefore be ‘fair minded’ as those in Berea during the ministry of Paul and Silas, see Acts 17:10-15.

God alone teaches us. What then does He teach? To those who meditate with God, to those who ask Him in faith, He will teach them good judgment and knowledge. The question now is Why? Without good communication with God, we would fail His commandments. The afflictions in life that cause us to go astray, lead us away from God’s Word, and have you noticed that when we return we say to Him, “but now LORD, I keep your Word!” this is a present tense statement as in NOW, not later as in “I will”.

God only does good. When we are afflicted by the results of sin, God’s love guides us to return to Him and do good. When we come to our “spiritual senses” He teaches us and rejoices our soul with His wonderful statutes. Those who forge lies are all around us, ‘false teachers and prophets’ they tell lies; but notice what the psalmist reveals in verse 69, but with my whole heart/soul, I will keep Your precepts, that being the Word of God.

The heart of those who seek profit from their comments are as fat as grease, while it is good to be tested by God and sometimes afflicted, it is always far better to learn firsthand from God, through the guidance of God the Holy Spirit that the law that comes from the mouth of God is far better to us than thousands of gold and silver.
