A Daily Devotional – Personal Faith – Personal Meditation (11)

A Daily Devotional – Personal Faith – Personal Meditation

Comment: Every day is an opportunity to do good or to do evil. Have you ever spoken to someone who claims that they do not sin? Surely, they are joking, is the thought that occupies my mind! Still, those who say such a thing, are lying and they are believing their own lie. Therefore, in order to tell a lie, one must believe in their own heart that the lie is truth or trust worthy, and it matters not; of what you think, know or of how you react to their words. Having this mindset is one of NO FAITH, no faith in God and no faith in their fellow man; their faith/fate then, is in their own hands.

Devotional: In chapter seven of the gospel of John we read what Jesus said to His half-brothers, James and Joses, Jude and Simon (see, Mark 6:3). We should be reminded at this point that the LORD’s brothers were very religious Jews and would we be surprised at this? No not at all, Joseph the father was a ‘just’ man and he raised his children to be just, both sons and daughters were to respect Judaism, see Luke 2:41-51. Remember too that Israel is God’s chosen nation, even though their religion is rejected.

Read John 7:1-5 as it is the conversation of His half-brothers with Jesus. In Judea, the Jews; that is the ruling authorities over Israel; at this time sought to kill Jesus. Did His brothers know this? Yes they did as I believe that Jesus returned home alone to Galilee. They encouraged Jesus to return to His followers (disciples) in order for these to see His works, since they (his brothers) were not interested. We also know from scripture that two of the brothers of Jesus were saved, James and Jude.

The world is at ease with evil, the world hates anyone who reveals good. Therefore, the unbelieving is willing to testify that they do not sin. Jesus has come, Jesus has died for the sin of the world, He has rose from death to life in order that those who believe in Him, should reign with Him in eternity. Of course, those who believe in Him are those who know that they are sinners and also know that Jesus died and rose again, to save us from sin. For those who say they do not SIN, they remain in their sin, they will not inherit glory with Christ and they will be given the reward of eternal damnation with the devil as he was a sinner from the beginning.
