A Daily Devotional – Personal Faith – Personal Meditation
Comment: I suppose we should say a few
things about the “grace” of God at this point; many of us have heard references
to grace, yet we still come away from those references confused. The grace of
God is available to all of mankind; as is the gospel. Grace is the Divine
influence on all of mankind; notice Titus 2:11-15, we should meditate on this
definition of the grace of God. The apostle Paul writes; “For the grace of God
that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness
and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the
present age. Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing to our great
God and Savior Jesus Christ. Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us
from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous
for good works. Speak these things, exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no
one despise you”.
Devotional: What
the apostle shares with us in Titus is the best definition for the grace of God, (grace like the Holy Spirit teaches us) it is scripture and it is TRUTH. Grace begins in the heart, it opens the
door of the heart to salvation when introduced to ‘personal faith’. For by
grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the
gift of God, not of (human) works, lest anyone should boast; Ephesians 2:8-9.
The gospel of John is a vivid demonstration of God’s
grace on mankind, in Acts 20:24 Luke refers to the following quote from the
apostle Paul while he exhorted the Elders of the Ephesian Church when they came
to Miletus, at Paul’s request to hear him speak about going to Jerusalem. We will
look at verse 24, but you ought to read the context. “But none of these things
move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, that I may finish my race (coarse)
with joy, and the ministry which I received from the LORD Jesus, to testify of
the gospel of the grace of God.
Yes, I know; I have not referenced much from John’s
gospel, so we will look at the only three references to the word grace in the
book. “John 1:14, 16-17”. The glory of God is God’s only begotten Son and
through His Son, the of Grace of God is revealed to all of mankind. The Father
and the Son are the evidence of Grace and Truth as Both are the subject. God revealed the Law to Moses and he passed it on to his
nation. Grace and Truth came to us by God, through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus
as the Lamb of God passes this Grace and Truth to everyone; who, by personal
faith receives Him; to the Jew first and the Gentile too.
Jesus is the Lamb of God, who has taken away the SIN
of the world, He alone provides victory over the devil and death. 1 Corinthians
15:50-58.
