A Daily Devotional – Personal Faith – Personal Meditation
Comment: Somethings in life seem firmly fixed,
while other things seem to be just out of reach. Time and again we find
ourselves with decisions that will destroy or alter those firmly fixed things. It
can be a tangible thing like a car, we say we like the car and will never give
it up, or at least “being a realist” we will say; “yes the car will get old and
I will need another one, so I will by the same brand and model that I have and
like so well today, and I will be just as satisfied. To be honest this is stubborn
or impractical faith, faith in the model of car and faith in the manufacturer
all of which is subject to change. In all areas of life, we use this method of faith.
Faith of a substance seen and not of things hoped.
Devotional: John
7:37-52 – Could this Man be the Christ/Messiah? This was the question in the
days of the ministry of Jesus and it is the question of the return of Jesus, even
today. The general public during the First Advent of the Messiah knew Him as
One who spoke boldly and with authority (Matthew 7:29). Yet, these folks the
general public and the leaders (religious leaders) are seeking to put Jesus to
death because of His claims of being God, and the Son of God.
Jesus is coming again, we are to be looking for Him to
return and the Scripture explains that His Second Coming is imminent (it could
be today), We are the general public and the religious leaders of today. Are we
any different than those First Advent seekers? No not at all since we are still
members of the First Advent of Christ Jesus. Beginning in the Book of Acts with
Peter’s sermon, thousands of people were born in the family of God by the
preaching of the gospel. Today, thousands of people are saved by that SAME
gospel message.
Jesus/Messiah is preached and believed on as the Lamb
of God, the sacrifice of God’s OWN Son. Do you not know this? ONLY THE SON OF
GOD IS THE MESSIAH, no one else qualifies and there is no other NAME, but
Jesus; He is the Christ. Those who believe Preach the Truth!
Yet we like they have the same problem in that when He
says “You both know me, and you know where I am from;
and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not
know. But I know Him, for I AM from Him, and He sent Me.” This Truth,
was rejected then and it is rejected today by most because they do not
understand that God’s love is everlasting and awaiting the Second Coning. In the
meantime, we who preached the Good News are like those mentioned by the apostle
Paul in Romans 8:31-39 (sheep accounted for slaughter).
