A Daily Devotional – Personal Faith – Personal Meditation
Comment: Rejecting authority has always been
the way of life for most people. There are only a small remnant of people
within the people groups throughout the world that seek to abide under the
authority of which they live. Sadly, we often seek to be our own authority over
living and we qualify what we do as ‘right or okay’ because the results look good, it also feels good and I am proud, and that is good. Think about this, as it is the
first sin ever committed; see Genesis 3:6 and 1 John 2:15-17. This sin is a root of bitterness that springs up in
the lives of most people and causes many to be defiled.
Devotional: Religious
leaders (these are not faithful servants of God) are very protective of what they have. They hear the comments of
the people “Can this be the Christ?” Isn’t He the One whom the leaders are
seeking to kill?” “The rulers know He is the Christ, don’t they?” And of
course, the crowd also has some doubtful thoughts too! “We know where this man
is from, and when Messiah does come, no one knows where He comes from1”
Do we not see this very thing today? Religions deny
that Jesus Christ/Messiah has come in the flesh. These according to scripture
are the many ‘antichrists’ that are in the religious world today. They deny the
Father and the Son, they reject the conviction of God the Holy Spirit and guess
what! GOD IS THE WITNESS to this. God is witness to the death, burial and
resurrection of His Beloved Son. He is witness to the physical birth as well as
the physical death of His Son, and it the Spirit of God who reveals this Truth
to mankind; see 1 John 5:6.
The great day of the feast of Tabernacles, which is
the last day of the feast, Jesus offers a refreshing drink for the souls of all
who will hear Him. “If anyone thirsts, let him (or her)
come to ME and drink. He who believes in ME, as the SCRIPTURE has said, out of
his (or her) heart will flow rivers of living water.” Today, if you will hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, do
not hardened your heart by the deftness of your ears, or the lust of the eyes,
and the lust of the flesh or the pride of life. Accept the message of God the
Holy Spirit. Jesus the Christ/Messiah.
