A Daily Devotional – Meditation and Study (3)
Comment: There are not many days that go by that
I do not consider the words of Psalm 19, the Psalm for me is in three parts of living
life before God. (1) GOD’S CREATION. (2) GOD’S WORD and (3) GOD’S MERCY. We
live in days when darkness drives men and women to believe the creature, to
cling to humanism and to reject faith. Romans 1:18-31 reads like the daily NEWS
in any city or town nationally.
Devotional: National repentance, while it seems
unlikely; it is not impossible. Yet it seems as if the men and women of FAITH have
become weary in well doing, 2 Thessalonians 3:13. Many churches of Jesus Christ
these days are the cause of the ‘bondage of darkness’ that prevails over our
nation. In our churches and in the name of God we condone immoral conduct, we
religiously please ourselves and we incorporate worldly attractions to appease
one another.
Religious favoritism;
James 2:1-13 speaks directly to the conduct of most in Christendom today, (see
James 2:4) meaning that we have extracted from the world all bondages of darkness,
we have blessed them and ordained them into ministry, sadly these leaders reflect
and promulgate the condition of our country today.
Those who do meditate
and study the Word of God are shunned. We are called bigots who hold to creeds
that are considered obsolete. I even heard one say that we promote stupid with
silly teachings (airheads). Like the apostle Paul standing before King Agrippa “Paul
you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving you mad!” Acts 26:24.
Friends, brothers and
sisters in Christ we ought always to be diligent in prayer and in the study of
God’s Word; in this is MEDITATION. in doing so we will find
opportunity to confess our national and personal sins as Daniel and others in
the Holy Bible have done in the past. Only God can call a nation out of its
transgression and sin, Psalm 19: 12-14. But He is not obligated to do so until
we as His church repent.
