A Daily Devotional – Psalms – Praise and Worship (5)
Comment: Do we praise the LORD, the Creator of
the heavens and earth as we ought? This is not a “guess” or a “by golly” question,
it is very serious. “Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed. BECAUSE
His compassion fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion says my soul. Therefore, I hope in Him” – Lamentations 3:22-24.
Jeremiah in the midst of anguish as he witnesses the death of Jerusalem by
Babylon is reeling in despair and mourning the loss of his beloved city laying
barren.
Devotional: In our nation we may
witness similar ruin and destruction as the future unfolds. Yet there as some
pastors, teachers and evangelist that are activity seeking a revival in our
land. Is revival possible for the United States of America? The question is
yes, there have been several already in this country. The Great awakenings, beginning
with men like, Solomon Stoddard and Jonathan Edwards in the 16th and
17th centuries and the last one ending in the early 1970’s we
commonly call the “Jesus Movement!” REVIVAL is possible, God is on His throne!
Psalm 103:1-10 –
A Psalm of David. Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless
His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who
forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your
life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who
satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the
eagle's. The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. The Lord
is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not
always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt
with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
Read all of
Psalm 103 today and praise the LORD, prayerfully entreat Him to heal our nation
of sin and unrighteousness as His judgment is pending. Tomorrow we will look at Psalm 85!
